Flower Festival of Our Lady of Grace (Infiorata della Madonna delle Grazie)
It takes place every year on the third Sunday after Easter. The Sunday before the feast, the icon of Our Lady of Grace is exposed for a week in the Collegiate Church of St. Assumption, then the next Sunday is carried in procession through the streets of the town in a winding path of flowers and colors. It is said that the picture of Our Lady of Grace was given by a bishop to the Maestre Pie Filippini and that, on the day of its transport to Capodimonte, the villagers greeted him with a big party throwing rose petals along the path and thus gave birth to the flower festival, an event that still characterizes the recurrence. In fact, the day of its transport groups of young people gather in various parts of Capodimonte organizing themselves to beautify the streets of small works of art, about the life of the Virgin, with flowers and other materials giving rise to a wonderful "floral display".
